Here, Kate wears grunge-chic style balanced against bohemian accessories for a prototypical cool girl look. I loved how her satchel bag added some structure to her relaxed fit layering and those authentic two-tone cowboy boots gave the look an interesting western flare.

She must have been about 19 years old.
Long, greasy hair with an odd tangerine blond color.
A cap-sleeved worn black shirt that fit baggy around the middle…like cheap cotton…and navy and white buffalo plaid shorts—really short, almost eating her butt. Almost.
“Hi, do you guys have any job applications?”
I knew that’s what she would say right when she walked in looking like that. I don’t even think she’s from around here. There’s no way she could afford the tuition if she couldn’t afford a good shampoo.
…not to mention the fact that she’s looking for a retail job.
Retail. The most glamorous form of drudgery.
I realized my hustle had to start now. Like she scared the shit out of me and now I had to move it.
I could afford not to work retail.
I could afford not to wash dishes.
I could afford to “figure it out” a while longer.
But I can’t afford to end up like her.
Yet, here I am, living on borrowed money in real time.
I keep telling myself I’ll get it together eventually, but eventually has come and gone…and I’m still here…a quarter century plus a year and I’m still here.
I can’t rely on God to have mercy on my desperation because she was desperate and it looked like He was merciless.
I see the signs. I’m taking notes. I’ll get it together.

Everything from the cut outs in the back to the classic shape and even the subtle print was so wonderfully retro yet, refreshingly contemporary. Bottom line: every girl needs a cute red dress in her life.
